We All Want To Be Liked and Loved, but..............
It’s part of the human condition that we all want to be liked and loved….. however, did you ever stop to consider that the foods we eat should like us and more important, should love us!This is an extremely significant point to consider when eating and one that is probably overlooked or not even given a second thought. If you subscribe to the saying “You Are What You Eat”, then you need to be aware of the foods that love you and subsequently the ones that don’t.
For instance, I would love to have a mouth watering hot fudge sundae with wonderful whipped cream and one of those sugary sweet cherries on top at least once a week. Or I would love to come home twice a week or so to a lovely rare steak with a baked potato filled with butter and sour cream. And then top that off with that American favorite – warm apple pie and ice cream. Or on the other nights, how about some southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes. I would be in heaven! Well maybe heaven is where I would be sooner than I might want if that’s my routine!
But hold on! Wait a minute! Listen up! Let’s stop and think rationally and reasonably about this. Even though I may love those foods – let’s face it folks – those foods not only don’t love me, I would say they hate me, they despise me. And just why is that? Well for openers, those foods contain those unspeakably bad fats, various chemicals, food colorings, food preservatives, etc., that clog your arteries, that after years of consuming them could put you in front of the line for heart attacks, strokes, and all the other insidious diseases we know about. And how about that extra fat around your middle that these kind of foods will produce? How about the fact that your insides will not reflect your biological age, but instead will indicate an age a lot older than you might realize because of these unhealthy foods.
I’m not saying you can never consume some of these types of foods. Of course you may have them occasionally. However, what I’m advocating is you must consume basically your fruits, vegetables, grains, good proteins such as fish, the good fats such as are found in avocados and nuts. These foods truly do like you and love you and this will be reflected in the energy you will feel, the good sleep you will have, the absence of aches and pains – in other words good sound energetic health.....and healthy weight loss!So considering we all want to be liked and loved, give that food you put into your body a second look and make sure you are really associating with things that fill those needs. Your body will certainly thank you for that decision and it will love you in return!
